IGUANA YACHTS CELEBRATES ITS 15th ANNIVERSARY

In 2008, Antoine Brugidou, an engineer and boat enthusiast, noticed a lack of ease of use of boats in the Channel. Navigating the Mont St Michel Bay is complicated. With big tides of around 15m and over-saturated marinas, having access to the sea is extremely difficult. This is how Iguana Yachts was created.

2008

GENESIS OF IGUANA YACHTS

From a simple idea to a wonderful company. Antoine Brugidou created Iguana Yachts on July 15, 2008, in Normandy.

2009

AMPHIBIOUS TECHNOLOGY PATENTS

The Iguana Mobility System technology is protected by international patents. The Iguana innovation is recognized all around the world.

2010

ENGINEERING AND DESIGN RESEARCH

A team was assembled with top-level engineers and designers to work on the Iguana project. Antoine Fritsch, Vivien Durisotti and Florent de Labarre joined the adventure.

2011

FIRST PROTOTYPE

First sea trials of the prototype. What a pleasure to try the Iguana on the waters of the Mont Saint Michel. This first prototype will be presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival and at the Paris Boat Show the same year.

2012

INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOWS

The second prototype is exhibited at Florida Boat Shows, like the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

2013

1ST SALE IN THE MIDDLE EAST

Dubai International Boat Show: we sell the very first Iguana to a customer. A unique and emotional moment, after 5 years of hard work.

2014

FIRST IGUANA YACHTS TENDER

First Iguana sold as a superyacht tender. The list is growing quickly now with other yachts (Shadow, Yalla, Masquenada, Topaz, Nord, Spectre, Falcon, Arrow…).

2015

FIRST ELECTRIC LAND DRIVE

The first amphibious boat with an electric land drive in the world. An option very popular among our customers.

2016

IGUANA ON AN EXCLUSIVE ISLAND

First Iguana sold to a private island. Other islands will quickly follow: Banwa Private Island, Herm Island, Orpheus Island, the Aerial BVI, Eustatia Island…

2017

LAUNCHED OF THE IGUANA COMMUTER

Release of the very first day cabin Iguana. The Iguana Commuter is the most premium and technologically advanced model. The perfect combination of comfort and elegance.

2018

INTRODUCING THE FIRST IGUANA RIB

After hard sided hulls, we are developing a range of RIBs. A more accessible model, ideal for family sea trips. The Iguana X100 is born.

2019

US NAVY SUPPLIER

This unique technology has also attracted the attention of the professional industry. We created Iguana Pro for governments, security and rescue.
