Categories Non classéDON’T FORGET TO CHECK YOUR HOSES – IGUANA TIPS Post author By Clémence Thellier Post date 23 August 2023 Hoses on the Iguana Mobility System (IMS) are an important inspection point that should not be overlooked. Indeed, if one of them is too old, the Iguana cannot function properly and it could leak.If you own an Iguana therm, there are 33 internal and 14 external hoses. For one electric, 16 internal, and 8 external. REGULARLY CHECK YOUR HOSESRegularly check your external hoses. Go around your Iguana, do not hesitate to feel the cables to check that there are no leaks.Ensure that your boat’s oil is at the proper level as well. Turn on the dashboard screen on the console and select “info” then “oil level”.Internal hoses have to be changed on average every 5 years or every 500 IMS hours. External hoses have to be changed on average every 2 years or every 200 IMS hours.WHAT TO DO IF THE HOSES NEED TO BE CHANGEDIf your hoses need to be changed, the Iguana can be sent to the shipyard. Our after-sales service team can also come to you, subject to team availability. If you have a team on-site, we can simply send you the necessary parts. Categories Non classéDISCOVER THE AFTERDECKING TEAM AT IGUANA SHIPYARD BY: LAURENT CORMERY Post author By Clémence Thellier Post date 29 June 2023 Those who follow our newsletter regularly know that we write an article every month about the teams involved in the Iguana building process. This month, we are highlighting after-decking and especially, Laurent Cormery. He answers a few questions to enlighten you on the stages of creating an Iguana.Meet Laurent, our after-decking leader, and his views on Iguana.HOW DID YOU START YOUR CAREER?“I started working when I was 16, in the building industry after training as a carpenter. I’ve always loved working with wood. But with the arrival of PVC, things changed. That’s what prompted me to change direction professionally. I tried my hand at several trades before setting up my own business as a joiner for 5 years. I loved it, but when my children were born, I realized I was working too much and not spending enough time with them. I closed my business and looked for a salaried job.”HOW DID YOU START AT IGUANA?“I found the Iguana offer via LinkedIn. I applied for the position of after-decking leader. The company was growing and they were in the process of structuring the construction stages. I joined Iguana at the end of 2018. My position has evolved a lot since I started. In the beginning, I was in the boats alongside my team. Then the team has grown from 4 to 7 people. Today, I work the supply chain with Julie (Logistics) and with the design office. I also manage the team, of course. What I really like about Iguana, is the product. It is exceptional. As a scuba-diving enthusiast, I was familiar with the maritime world, but not with driving or construction. There’s not much wood on the Iguanas, but the unique characteristic of the boat and the possibility of managing a team won me over. I wanted a new challenge for my career.” Laurent Cormery, Afterdecking Leader Coming out of the water and getting on the sand just like that, it's impressive! WHAT IS IT LIKE TO WORK FOR IGUANA YACHTS?“The first time I saw an Iguana, I couldn’t believe it. You don’t realize it at first. But then you start to work on it, and little by little, you become aware of it. I’d seen amphibious boats before, but only on wheels and this was nothing like the Iguana. The moment when you really become aware of the amphibious aspect and its usefulness is when you try it out at sea. It’s a concrete expression of what we’re doing on-site.”“At Iguana, I learned a lot. Particularly as a manager and as part of a team. Younger generations were trained differently when I started my professional career. It was the old-fashioned way. Today, that has changed. The average age is rather young at Iguana. It’s a different approach and that’s what I like about it. It’s challenging.” From the left to the right: Quentin Dumas, Elodie Thierry, Charlélie Lemarchand, Laurent Cormery, David Goncalves.
